Product Details:
The Ship That Sank in Victory by Jean Leon Gerome Ferris portrays a moment of triumph during the American Revolutionary War. This engagement occurred off the coast of England, where the Bonhomme Richard, under John Paul Jones’s command, engaged the more heavily armed HMS Serapis. Despite overwhelming odds, Jones’s resolve and the determination of his crew led to a surprising and morale-boosting victory for the American forces. The Bonhomme Richard was severely damaged in the battle and sank shortly after the hard-won victory
