Product Details:

The Harlem Hellfighters Capture Séchault, 25 September 1918 by Frederick Coffay Yohn depicts a pivotal moment during World War I, highlighting the heroism of the 369th Infantry Regiment, famously known as the Harlem Hellfighters. On September 25, 1918, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, the Harlem Hellfighters (part of the French 161st Division) bravely attacked and captured Séchault, a key German-held village. The 369th Infantry Regiment, composed primarily of African American soldiers, fought under French command due to segregation in the U.S. Army. Their courage and effectiveness earned them numerous honors, including the Croix de Guerre from France.
