Product Details:

Soldiers in Uniforms by the American soldier and artist Jean-Baptiste-Antoine de Verger was painted around 1781 and features various figures in military dress, showcasing diverse uniforms from the American Revolutionary War. Verger's illustrations are valuable historical records, as they provide insights into the appearance of soldiers and different ethnic groups in the conflict, including an African American soldier, a Continental soldier, a frontier rifleman, and a militiaman. Verger was a French officer who served with the Comte de Rochambeau’s army during the American Revolution, and his sketches and watercolors capture scenes and characters from his time in America.
