Product Details:
Loyalists to Canada by Howard Pyle depicts the exodus of British Loyalists to Canada following the American Revolution. After the Treaty of Paris (1783), thousands of Loyalists, who had supported the British Crown, fled to British-controlled territories such as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Upper Canada (now Ontario) to escape persecution and retribution from the victorious American Patriots. This migration helped shape Canadian history, as many Loyalists were instrumental in founding cities, establishing government structures, and fostering British traditions in Canada. Their presence led to the creation of New Brunswick as a separate colony and significantly influenced Upper Canada (Ontario).
