Product Details:
The Rail Splitter by Jean Leon Gerome Ferris highlights Lincoln’s rail-splitter identity which became a cornerstone of his political image. Born in 1809 in Kentucky, Lincoln grew up in a log cabin and moved to Illinois, where he worked various manual jobs, including splitting rails for fences. During the 1860 Republican National Convention, his cousin John Hanks famously brought in rails Lincoln had supposedly split, cementing the "Rail-Splitter" nickname.
