Product Details:

First Recognition of the American Flag by a Foreign Government by Edward Moran commemorates a historic event from the American Revolutionary War that took place on February 14, 1778, when the French navy in Quiberon Bay, France, formally recognized the USS Ranger - commanded by John Paul Jones - by firing a salute to the American flag. This recognition marked the first time a foreign government officially acknowledged the flag of the United States, symbolizing the beginning of international support for the American cause.
