Product Details:

Death of General de Kalb at the Battle of Camden by Alonzo Chappel captures a dramatic moment during the American Revolutionary War. Depicted in the painting is the heroism and sacrifice of Johann de Kalb, a German-born major general in the Continental Army. During the 1780 Battle of Camden, a brutal confrontation in South Carolina, de Kalb showed remarkable bravery while rallying American forces against the British. Despite his efforts, he was severely wounded and later died from his injuries. Chappel’s painting vividly conveys de Kalb's final moments, surrounded by his fellow soldiers, emphasizing his dedication and the tragic loss felt by his comrades.
