Casimir Pulaski, born in Poland, was a nobleman and military commander who played a crucial role in the American Revolution. After meeting Benjamin Franklin in France, Pulaski was recruited to the American cause and quickly distinguished himself, notably at the Battle of Brandywine. He was commissioned as a Brigadier General by George Washington and is often called the "Father of the American Cavalry."
