The Battle of Fredericksburg is a lithograph by the Chicago firm of Kurz & Allison. It depicts the Army of the Potomac crossing the Rappahannock river in the morning of December 13, 1862, under the command of Generals Burnside, Sumner, Hooker & Franklin. In this scene, Union troops cross the Rappahannock River on pontoon-boat bridges in the face of Confederate fire while the town of Fredericksburg burns in the background.
