Product Details:

Battle of Bennington by Alonzo Chappel depicts the Battle of Bennington, which took place on August 16, 1777, during the American Revolutionary War. This battle was a critical victory for the American forces, led by General John Stark and Colonel Seth Warner, against a British detachment under Lieutenant Colonel Friedrich Baum and Heinrich von Breymann. General John Stark, leading the charge, famously declaring “There are the Redcoats! We’ll beat them today, or Molly Stark sleeps a widow tonight!” This battle was significant because it weakened British General John Burgoyne’s forces, contributing to their eventual defeat at Saratoga, which in turn helped secure French support for the American cause.
